Many of you know I am on a a mission to better myself. Many of you also know I read a new book that has really helped me out. "Even June CLeaver Would Forget the Juice Box", by Ann Dunnewold. Here is a summary of the books "mommy mantras": (you can click on the image to make them bigger)
I have a copy of this on my fridge and read it daily. Many of these ideas seem very common sense, but I was not following them. I was freaking out and feeling guilty that my kids were not eating organic strawberries or that I raised my voice at Oliver when he miss behaved. I feel like this book has really helped center me and bring me back down to earth. I am trying and for the most part succeeding at being a "perfectly good mother." I highly recommend this book.

sweetie, you're an amazing mother. i see you 14 hours a week, and i know that you love your children more than anything and would do anything that you had to for them no matter what the cost. you want the best for them, you do your best for them, you love them with all your heart, and you make sure that they know it. the book is great and it makes you immediately aware of things that you don't tell yourself every day, but i can guarantee that you don't need it to make sure that you're a good mom, wife or person. you just need to allow yourself to love you as much as you love your children. :)
That's perfect! ;)
You should be very proud of yourself for stepping back and being able to tell yourself that being a perfectly good mom is just fine even though you are a GREAT mom!! You kids are extremely lucky to have you as their mommy!
Omgosh, Sara. Thank you for posting this!!
Wow...they ARE common sense...why do I always forget them? I am copying my favorites for a reminder list of my own. Thanks so much for sharing this!
